Leptospirosis

Leptospirosis is a bacterial disease that affects humans and animals. It is an infectious disease caused by bacteria of the genus Leptospira. In humans, it can cause a wide range of symptoms.

The infection is generally transmitted to humans by water that has been contaminated by animal urine which comes in contact with unhealed breaks in the skin, the eyes, or with the mucous membranes.

Symptoms

In most cases, there are symptoms like fever, headache, chill and muscle pain can be seen. However, in some cases, the symptoms can be severe and can cause many harmful problems like organ failure, internal bleeding etc.

In animals you might get confused with the symptoms – Leptospirosis also has similar symptoms to Babesia. It can cause blood in the urine problem in animals.

Preventions

You should not keep Dogs & Cats in the dairy farm. But you should keep Guineafowl in the farm so that Guineafowl will eat all the rats on the farm.

Treatment

Leptospirosis can be treated with Antibiotics. But when conditions are severe, consult your health care provider.
